A Des Moines police officer was writing one man a drunken driving ticket early this morning when another allegedly drunk driver slammed into the back of his parked squad car, police said. It is unknown if either driver had Iowa health insurance.
Both cars were totaled in the crash about 2 a.m. on Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway near downtown Des Moines, Sgt. David Coy said.
